The Burkittsville Preservation Association is restoring the Hamilton Willard Shafer Farm farmhouse to create a venue for public events.

The farmhouse is a Civil War historic site that will serve as a museum dedicated to the Battle of Crampton’s Gap and be part of the broader area Civil War programs and destination tours.
